Emporia High picked up 7 medals on day 1 of the State Track and Field meet.
Myles Livingston finished in 2nd place in the discus with a throw of 159-04, a personal best.
Olivia Young finished in 2nd place in the high jump with a leap of 5′-02″.
Hunter Williams finished in 4th place in the pole vault.
Taylor Milleson finished in 4th place in the shot put.
Abby Stewart finished in 5th place in the 3200 meter run, with a pr by almost 11 seconds, finishing with a time of 11:12.23.
Miranda Reisen finished in 6th place in the long jump.
Sara Mitchell finished in 6th place in the discus.
The Emporia High boys 4 by 100 relay team of Storm Dial, Colin Polston, Colton Bieker and Kesston Gentz qualified for Saturdays finals finishing the 7th fastest prelim time.
Kesston Gentz qualified for the finals in the 400 meter dash with the 6th fastest prelim time.
Rafael Vaquez qualified for the finals in the 300 hurdles with the 4th fastest time.
The 4 by 400 relay team of Kesston Gentz, Colton Bieker, Matt East and Brent Hastert qualified for the finals with the 5th fastest time in the prelims.
Area athletes picked up 10 medals and 15 advanced to Saturdays finals.
Olpes Brianna Vogts finished in 2nd place in the triple jump and 6th in the long jump.
Vogts was also part of the Olpe girls 4 by 400 relay with Marley Heins, Macy Smith and Mallory Kueser which qualified for Saturdays final.
Camden Hoelting of Olpe finished in 4th place in the 3200 meter run.
Tucker Day of Council Grove placed 3rd in the shot put.
Tucker Kimball of Osage City finished in 5th place in the long jump.
Claire Crawford of Osage City finished in 5th place in the discus.
Calli Dannels of Hamilton finished in 6th place in the javelin.
Mason Krause of Lyndon finished in 8th place in the javelin.
Ashlyn Doebele of Burlington finished in 2nd place in the long jump, 4th in the triple jump and qualified for the finals in the 400 meter and 200 meter dashes.
Abbi Good of Council Grove qualified for the finals in both the 100 and 300 hurdles.
Chonnor Ludolph of Southern Coffey County, Kelton Beuttner of Hamilton and Leo Troy Rathke of Northern Heights qualified for the finals in the 110 hurdles.
The Council Grove girls 4 by 100 relay team qualified for the finals.
Mya Eidman of Chase County, Megan Foster of Waverly and Kreyser King of Council Grove qualified for the 400 meter dash finals.
Lauren Carlson of Council Grove and Dexton Swinehart of Lyndon qualified for the finals in the 200 meter dash.
