The Kansas State high school track and field meet begins Friday. Emporia High will be sending 29 athletes to compete in 25 events.
Abby Stewart will be running in the 3200 and 1600 meter runs and is seeded 5th out of regionals.
Kaitlyn Karjala will also be running in the 3200 and 1600 meter runs.
Jonathan Olson is seeded 3rd in both the shotput and javelin.
The boys 4 by 400 relay team of Kesston Gentz, Colton Bieker, Matt East and Brent Hastert are seeded 3rd. Colton Bieker will also be running in the 200 meter dash and as part of the 4 by 100 relay.
Kesston Gentz will also run in the 4 by 100 relay and in the 400 meter dash.
Brent Hastert will also run in the 800 meter run.
Taylor Milleson is seeded 5th in the shot put.
Classes 4-5-6A will compete during the morning session tomorrow. Classes 1-2-3A will compete during the afternoon session.
