EUREKA — A Greenwood County deputy is lucky to be alive after he had to take evasive action before his truck was hit during a traffic stop over the weekend.
A video from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy going back to the truck as part of a traffic stop in Eureka on Saturday. Things were routine up until his truck got slammed into by a second truck.
After impact, the second truck continued and struck a nearby building before stopping. That truck had a U-Haul trailer attached.
There are no reported injuries with this incident. The investigation continues through the Kansas Highway Patrol, and currently no other details have been released about this incident.
This is a busy time for law enforcement, and not just locally or areawide but across the nation as Click It or Ticket enforcement efforts continue through June 3.
