Current Secretary of State Kris Kobach filed his paperwork Tuesday. Gov. Jeff Colyer, meanwhile, says he is filing Wednesday.
The two join Tyler Ruzich and State Insurance Commissioner Ken Selzer on the Republican ballot. Jack Bergeson, Carl Brewer and Josh Svaty have filed on the Democrat side.
In the Kansas House, all area representatives have filed for re-election. Mark Schreiber of the 60th District, Ron Highland of the 51st District and Eric Smith of the 76th District are all currently unopposed.
For local elections, Lyon County Commissioner Scott Briggs is also running unopposed.
In other political news across the state, Alan LaPolice has announced will face off against First District US Congressman Roger Marshall — but he will do so during the general election in November as a Democrat. LaPolice ran an independent campaign for the seat in 2014 against then-incumbent Tim Huelskamp. He then ran as an independent against Marshall two years ago.
