Questions have developed about a data verification request for Emporia High School alums, but Principal Britton Hart says it’s OK for alumni to participate.
The email went out earlier this week — with Hart’s signature — from a company called Publishing Concepts. The email is asking all alums to call a toll-free number to confirm data currently listed in the high school files within seven days of receiving the email.
The term “data collection” has apparently spooked a lot of recipients, especially with the ongoing barrage of identity theft attempts. Hart says the data collected in this case is traditional yearbook or alumni information as opposed to anything used for identity theft purposes.
