Emporia Fire crews were called out to a reported structure fire at about 11 a.m. at 507 Turner Road.
Fire crews and Emporia Police investigated a home filled with smoke. They were able to determine that the resident’s toaster caught on fire. Firefighters removed the toaster from the home and extinguished the fire rather quickly. No injuries were reported.
The Emporia Fire Department says it’s a perfect example of a resident doing the right thing to call 911 when they have an emergency.
No damage was reported to the home.
