A trio of road projects in Emporia and Lyon County will take place over the next several days and into next week.
According to the Lyon County Highway Department, beginning Friday, Road 340 will be closed between Road F and Road G, north of Bushong, for approximately eight weeks to replace a timber culvert.
On Monday, the Kansas Turnpike Authority will begin raising the bridge at mile marker 151.69 on Road X, about 12 miles north of the Admire interchange. As a result, the road will be closed.
Starting Tuesday, the City of Emporia says the Market Street crossing over the BNSF railroad will be closed to perform needed repairs. BNSF anticipates the crossing will be reopened on the morning of June 15.
