Patrons of Emporia’s Starbucks got a surprise along with their morning coffee Saturday.
The coffee shop’s exterior sign at 2916 Eaglecrest was flat on the ground. Restaurant staff say a crack was noticed, so the pole was brought down as a safety precaution.
A new sign is being built and will be erected at a later date.
