The Kansas City Royals only managed to put up two runs in a 10-2 loss to the Houston Astros Saturday.
Houston opened the scoring in the first inning off a two-run double from Jose Altuve. Drew Butera and Ryan Goins scored the only runs for the Royals in the fifth inning to make a two-run deficit. Houston would then score three in the sixth and ninth to close out the game. Danny Duffy was the starting pitcher giving up seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings.
The Royals have lost 11 of their last 12 games and are currently 22-48 on the season.
The Royals and Astros close out their three-game series Sunday. Brad Keller will be the starter for the Royals opposite Lance McCullers JR for the Astros. First pitch is set for 1:15, the game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9 FM beginning at 12:30 pm.
