Historic brick along a Cottonwood Falls street will get a makeover later this year thanks to a better than $700,000 bid approved late last week by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The project, slated to begin in July is expected to smooth out Pearl Street crossing through downtown and restore its historic look. Mayor Buddy Sisson says it’s an exciting project for the town.
Sisson says in addition to a smoother drive along Pearl Street, several other improvements are being made.
Sisson says this has been a project on the city’s radar for the last few years and the project is scheduled for an 88-day working period. Bryant & Bryant Construction of Halstead is in charge of the project for KDOT.
