The Houston Astros swept the three-game series over the Kansas City Royals with a 7-4 victory in a game that saw both Danny Duffy and Mike Moustakas ejected.
The Astros would open the scoring in the top of the first with two runs. Kansas City would answer back with two of their own in the bottom of the first and took the lead scoring two more runs in the third off a two-run home run by Hunter Dozier. Carlos Correa would tie the game for Houston with a single home run to start off the eighth inning. Evan Gattis would single in Yuli Gurriel and Marvin Gonzalez added an RBI single in the eighth to seal the win.
Moustakas was ejected in the third inning after a disagreement with home plate umpire John Trumpane on a close play at the plate. Duffy was ejected just three innings later also after a disagreement with Trumpane.
Brad Keller was the starter for the Royals giving up three runs in six innings.
This marks the sixth straight loss in a row for the Royals who are now 22-49 on the season. The Royals now prepare to host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series starting Monday. First pitch is set for 7:15 pregame coverage on KVOE 1400am/96.9fm will begin at 6:30.
