Emporia State Athletic Director Kent Weiser has announced the hiring of Seth Wheeler as the next head baseball coach.
Coach Wheeler has been the pitching coach at Emporia State the last 3 seasons and says it is an honor to be the next head baseball coach at Emporia State.
Coach Wheeler says he can’t wait the get started.
Wheeler says he always dreamed of being a Head Baseball Coach.
Emporia State Athletic Director Kent Weiser said in the end Coach Wheeler was the best fit.
Seth Wheeler was previously an assistant at Butler County. He was also the head coach for the Junction City Brigade, a college age summer league team, for 3 seasons compiling a record of 72-42. He is a 2014 graduate of Central Missouri where he was an honorable mention All MIAA catcher. Wheeler takes over for long time coach Bob Fornelli who is now at Pittsburg State. An introductory press conference will be held on Thursday, June 21.
