A pair of improvement projects get underway this week on the Kansas Turnpike near of the Admire-Council Grove exit.
Monday, paving work is affecting southbound travel between mile markers 150 and 155, or three to eight miles northeast of the Admire gate. The Turnpike Authority says there is a 65 mph speed limit and a 12-foot lane width restriction.
Later this week, the Turnpike Authority plans to raise a bridge at mile marker 143, or four miles southwest of the Admire exit. That work could begin as soon as Tuesday. Lyon County Road and Bridge has already closed Road 310 between T and U in anticipation of that project.
