A break in the heat is coming.
Showers and thunderstorms are now in the forecast picture from early Tuesday all the way through the upcoming weekend. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says a stalled-out frontal boundary will give us numerous chances for rainfall the next few days. Higher rain totals are setting up north of Interstate 70, but Meyers says we could see up to an inch of rain all told by the weekend.
Besides the chances for much-needed rainfall all week and a minimal severe weather risk early in the week, high temperatures will also come down. We could be in the mid-80s by Wednesday and low 80s by Thursday.
In the meantime, we are still in a heat advisory until 8 pm affecting Lyon, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties.
