Upsets continue to abound in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
After a stunning 1-0 win by Mexico over defending World Cup Champions Germany Sunday, Colombia is the latest team to suffer a surprising loss.
In their early morning matchup with Japan Tuesday it took only three minutes for the first red card to be handed out sending Colombian midfielder Carlos Sanchez Moreno to the locker room after blocking a shot with his arm. Japan would then open the scoring just three minutes later off a goal from midfielder Shinji Kagawa.
Colombia managed to tie the game in the 39th minute of play, but Japan would stun the crowd taking the lead and the win with a goal by Yuya Osako in the 73rd minute.
Japan now claims three points and the top position in Group H.
