Emporia fire crews dealt with a small fire early Saturday.
Firefighters were called out just after midnight to 1019 Sylvan for a stove fire, although the homeowner had the fire out by the time crews arrived. Battalion Chief Rich Gould says a spatula got hot on the stove’s heating element.
There were no injuries and no damage. The homeowner’s name has not been released.
