The Kansas City Royals survived a 9th inning rally to beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4, Wednesday afternoon.
Kansas City scored all five of their runs in the seventh inning. Mike Moustakas started the scoring with a solo home run — his 15th homer of the season. Adalberto Mondesi hit a two-RBI single and Lucas Duda and Whit Merrifield added RBI singles.
Duffy collected his fourth win of the season, pitching six innings giving up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven. Tim Hill struggled in the ninth inning, facing three batters while giving up three runs, including a three-run home run to Brad Miller. Wily Peralta got the final three outs, for his second save of the season.
The Royals are off Thursday before opening a weekend series in Seattle.
