KVOE listeners escaped a risk of severe weather Saturday night and early Sunday, with many residents picking up some decent rain in the process.
The entire listening area was blanketed by severe weather watches, but nothing materialized in that regard.
As far as rain totals, the southern half of the KVOE listening area fared better than the northern half — a trend that now has been in place for several weeks. Rain totals from activity Saturday evening and early Sunday morning:
*KVOE studios: 1.03 inches
*Central Emporia: 0.98 inches
*East Emporia: 0.40 inches
*Lake Kahola: 0.60 inches
*Northeast Greenwood County: 1.8 inches
*Neosho Rapids: 1.9 inches
*Between Hartford and Olpe: 2.1 inches
After several days of sweltering heat, Sunday will be a cooler, less humid day as high temperatures top out in the upper 80s. Low 90s are expected for highs all this week.
If you have rain totals, call KVOE at 342-1400 or message the Bluestem Farm and Ranch text line at 620-342-5863.
