The Kansas Department of Corrections is investigating after an inmate uprising at the El Dorado Correctional Facility on Sunday.
Officials say a group of inmates refused to go back into their cells and then set small fires inside the compound. The fires were quickly put out.
There were no injuries, either to staff or inmates.
About 100 inmates were involved, and the Wichita Eagle says they surrendered Sunday night after a standoff lasting several hours. Authorities have not formally said what triggered the incident.
