The City of Emporia has announced that beginning Thursday, the intersection of 12th and Prairie will be closed off to all traffic.
The closure is in conjunction with the installation of a new 20-inch water main replacement project on 12th Avenue from Prairie to Grand Street. It is anticipated that the intersection will be closed for about two weeks, weather permitting.
An official detour route will be signed and all local traffic is encouraged to find alternate routes during the closure.
