A Missouri man has been sentenced in Lyon County for his involvement in a late December altercation with law enforcement officers.
At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Merlin Wheeler sentenced Robert James Robison III to 32 months in prison, along with 24 months of postrelease supervision. He’s also been ordered to pay restitution, but that will be decided in a separate hearing at 2 p.m. July 24.
Robison reached a plea agreement in March to a single count of battery on a Lyon County law enforcement officer. He had been formally charged with two counts of battery against a law enforcement officer after he allegedly scratched two detention officers and bit a third. The second count was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Robison also faces numerous charges in Greenwood County after initiallly leading an alleged car chase with a young child in his car and fighting with officers before being transferred to Emporia. Further information on that case is pending.
