The Cleveland Indians completed the 3 game sweep of the Kansas City Royals Wednesday night, holding on for a 3-2 win.
Cleveland scored 2 runs in the first and added a run in the 2nd inning to take a 3-0 lead. Alex Gordan stole home for the Royals first run in the 2nd inning. They Royals added a run in the 5th inning when Alcides Escobar scored on a Whit Merrifield sacrifice fly. The Royals stranded 6 runners and were 0-6 with runners in scoring position. Manager Ned Yost said that’s been a problem all season long.
The Royals are off Thursday they begin a three game series with Boston Friday night in Kansas City.
