Isolated thunderstorms brought welcome rains to the people underneath them Thursday evening.
One storm cluster developed just northeast of Emporia around 6 pm. That cell tracked slowly to the southwest, causing a brief severe thunderstorm warning.
A separate cluster developed in central Chase County and eventually split before falling apart completely. No alerts were issued with the Chase County activity.
More isolated activity developed in Coffey County along Interstate 35 but died off quickly as it pushed to the south of the highway.
As far as rain total, the KVOE studios received 0.50 inches of rain. Other totals:
