Erik Jones had to work overtime and avoid several big wrecks, but outlasted it all to capture his first career win in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series — at Daytona International Speedway, Saturday.
Jones outdueled Martin Truex Jr. on the final restart for the win. There were 11 wrecks on the night with the last one knocking Clint Bowyer out of the race. Bowyer finished in 22nd place. 13 of the 40 cars were able to make the final restart.
