The Emporia Energy 18 year old team finished in 2nd place at the USSSA Class B State tournament over the weekend.
The Energy 18s Sunday defeated the Topeka Stingers 6-5 to advance to the semi-finals. They were defeated by the NCK Nitro out of Clay Center 5-3 in the semi-finals. They defeated the Manhattan Optimist Moxie 11-1 in the consolation final. They were shutout by the NCK Nitro 8-0 in the championship game. The Energy 18s were 3-2 in the tournament. They will host a tournament this Saturday and Sunday.
