A busy week for Kansas gubernatorial candidates lies ahead with at least two Republicans and a Democrat scheduling visits in Emporia.
On Monday, Gov. Jeff Colyer will be in Emporia to announce what’s being called an important personal endorsement. The announcement will be made at 3012 West Hwy 50 in Emporia shortly after 4 pm. The governor will be joined in attendance by Lt. Gov. Tracey Mann.
Also Monday, Democrat gubernatorial candidate Laura Kelly appears at the Lyon County Democrats’ monthly meeting. Activities begin at 6:30 pm at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex.
On Tuesday, Secretary of State Kris Kobach will be in Emporia and will sit down with KVOE News for an exclusive interview.
Colyer and Kobach are the front-runners in a crowded list of candidates on the Republican side, while the Democrat field is still bunched. The primary election is Aug. 7.
