Authorities in Sumner County are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving an Emporia woman was found dead along with a Wellington man Saturday in rural southeastern Sumner County.
Sumner County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 130th Street shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they discovered two bodies, a male and female, lying in the road with gunshot wounds to the head. An autopsy was ordered and the bodies were transported to the Forensic Science Center in Wichita.
The bodies were those of Carrie Ensminger, 27, of Emporia and Toby Farley, 36, of Wellington.
Further details surrounding the deaths are pending, but officials are investigating it as an apparent murder-suicide.
