The Emporia School Board meets Wednesday evening and it will be the final board meeting for long-time member Mike Helbert.
Helbert, who spent 11 years on the board announced his resignation from the board last month. A reception will be held prior to the meeting at the Mary Herbert Education Center. The agenda includes an opportunity for board members to appoint members to various committees and boards including the Emporia Recreation Commission to replace Helbert who represented the school board on the commission.
The board plans to discuss updates to the budget timeline and school safety. Also to be discussed are appointments and other housekeeping measures.
Wednesday’s meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Mary Herbert Education Center.
