A Herington man accused in the murder of former Emporian Mackenzie Payne has a new court date coming later this month.
A preliminary hearing for 25-year-old Dylan Leigh Barber was continued Thursday in Sedgwick County Court to 1:30 p.m. July 30. Barber is charged with first-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon following the stabbing death of Payne in the early hours of June 26 at a northwest Wichita apartment.
Barber remains jailed on $500,000 bond.
