Newman Regional Health recently installed a new Cardiology Medical Director.
Dr. Dominic “Mick” Hurley was announced in late June as the new director following two years of service as the hospital’s interventional cardiologist. Dr. Hurley joined KVOE’s Newsmaker program Friday and says having the quality of care offered by the cardiology department in Emporia can be life-saving at times.
Hurley says over the past two years, the cardiology department at Newman Regional Health has seen an increase in the volume of patients served. In addition, he says they are actively seeking to bring on a third cardiologist for the department, noting Emporia as a great place to practice cardiology.
Dr. Hurley is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Interventional Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians, Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
Newman Regional Health offers a comprehensive cardiology program for the community including diagnostics and specialty care in both the hospital and clinic for patients with cardiology conditions.
