Relay for Life of the Flint Hills’ third annual “Hope Floats” root beer float social brought people of all ages together for a good cause.
Relay for Life supporters enjoyed free ice cream and soda at the Emporia Senior Center for “Hope Floats” Saturday, a prelude to the annual relay coming up in September. Organizer Cherie Crisp says ultimately events like this bring together survivors and the caregivers who mean so much to them.
Donations will be used primarily for the Sept. 8 Relay for Life to be held at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. Crisp says the impact is far wider than just the Flint Hills.
Crisp says the Relay for Life is always a memorable time for everyone involved and will include games, food, prizes, and the luminaries which honor those who have passed. To sign up for this year’s Relay or to learn more about it, go to the 2018 Relay for Life of the Flint Hills sign-up page.
