The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team wrapped up zone tournament play with a 8-3 win over Chanute Sunday.
Chanute scored the games first 3 runs. Post 5 answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. They added 3 more runs in the 5th and 2 runs in the 6th. Sawyer Slayden was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Jace Stewart drove in 2 runs. Skyler Beatty was the winning pitcher, going 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts. Hayden Baumwart pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.
The Post 5 Seniors will be hosting the AAA State tournament beginning July 25th.
