The Libertarian candidate for governor is coming to Emporia on Monday.
Jeff Caldwell is slated for an appearance at CBD American Shaman from 11 am to 1 pm.
As the party’s lone candidate, Caldwell is trying to drum up support for the general election in November as opposed to the primary election in August. Independent Rick Kloos is also bypassing the primary and targeting the general election this fall.
Voter registration for the Aug. 7 primary closes Tuesday. Advance mail ballot voting begins Wednesday, with advance voting in the Lyon County Election Office beginning July 23. Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat will have a last-minute reminder of upcoming deadlines during Tuesday’s Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am on KVOE and KVOE.com.
