A special two-in-one concert in Emporia will kick off the annual All Veterans Tribute in November.
Granada Theatre Director Bryan Williams was recently a guest on KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 and announced not one, but two legendary classic rock bands will grace the stage later this year. Pure Prairie League and Atlanta Rhythm Section will share the bill Saturday, Nov. 3, with an exciting back-to-back show.
Williams calls it an exciting way to start off a great week honoring local veterans.
Atlanta Rhythm Section formed in 1971 and gained fame with their 1976 hit album A Rock and Roll Alternative which featured the single So Into You.
Pure Prairie League was formed in 1970 and were named after a fictional 19th-century temperance union from the 1939 Errol Flynn film Dodge City. The band rose to prominence with hits such as Two Lane Highway, That’ll be the Day and their 1973 classic, Amie.
Williams says the Granada is fortunate to have such great support which allows them to bring amazing shows like this to town.
The doubleheader performance will take place 7 pm. Tickets go on sale Wednesday for Friends of the Granada Theatre and Friday at 10 am for the general public.
