Kansas State running back Alex Barnes is one of 62 players in the nation and six from the Big 12 to earn a spot on the Doak Walker Award watch list, which honors the nation’s premier running back.
Barnes is on the watch list for a second-straight year, while it is the 16th time since 1992 a Wildcat has been up for the award. Darren Sproles was one of three finalists for the award in 2003, while Daniel Thomas was a semifinalist in 2010.
Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner was named a candidate for the American Football Coaches Association Good Works team. Risner is a nominee for the award for a second-straight year.
Kansas Linebacker Joe Dineene Jr is also a candidate for the AFCA Good Works Team.

Wichita is one of four sites selected to host the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship regional rounds. The games will be contested March 25-28.
