Water customers who live near the construction site of the new 12th Ave. water main will have interrupted service Monday.
According to the City of Emporia Engineering Office, service will be interrupted along 12th Avenue from Prairie Street to Grand while the contractor is completing connections to the new main. Jeff Gentz with the Engineering Office says that work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the workday Monday.
Pavement restoration work also will begin Monday at the 12th and Prairie intersection and is anticipated to be open to traffic by the first week of August. The remainder of 12th Ave. from Prairie to Grand is expected to be open to traffic by the first week of September, weather permitting.
