Emporia Police say at least two people were transported after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon at the intersection of 6th and Cottonwood Ave.
The crash occurred around 2 p.m. after one of the drivers failed to yield to a westbound vehicle in the intersection. The impact caused the Jeep to enter the front yard of a residence at the northwest corner of the intersection.
One of the vehicle’s occupants was transported to Newman Regional Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The extent of the other person’s injuries is unknown.

One person was transported after a two-vehicle crash involving a Jeep and SUV at the intersection of 6th Ave. and Cottonwood Street Friday afternoon.
According to Emporia Police, the southbound vehicle failed to yield at the stop sign, causing the crash around 2 p.m. The impact caused the Jeep to enter the front yard of a residence at the northwest corner of the intersection.
One of the drivers was transported to Newman Regional Health with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver wasn’t hurt. Names of those involved have not been released.
