The annual Homegrown Celebration brought hundreds of people to the Farmers Market parking lot Saturday.
Market manager Jessica Hopkins tells KVOE News she was excited to be part of the event’s 15th year.
Throughout its 15-year history, Homegrown has been a partnership between the market and ESB Financial. Bank Vice President Karen Sommers says it has been a special partnership since the outset.
New this year was a chef’s demonstration. Arts Center culinary director Chelsea Knight gave folks insight into watermelon drinks and desserts, including lemonade, sorbet and cake. Knight was a vendor at last year’s Homegrown before agreeing to serve as food expert Saturday.
The traditional watermelon contests were also part of Homegrown.
