One person spent part of Saturday afternoon at Newman Regional Health after a crash involving a pickup truck and motorcycle in east Emporia.
Emporia Police Officer Jaffar Agha tells KVOE News the motorcycle was northbound on Peyton Street and had stopped at 12th when the wreck happened shortly after noon. A westbound truck on 12th was in the process of turning left, or south, at Peyton. However, the truck driver misjudged the turn and clipped the front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver was unhurt, but a passenger fell off and was taken to Newman Regional Health afterward. The truck driver was unhurt. Names have not been released.
EPD says the truck driver was cited for careless driving and for driving against restrictions.
