This is the first day you can vote in person ahead of the primary election Aug. 7.
Voters wishing to take advantage of this process need to vote at the Lyon County Clerk’s Office inside the County Courthouse.
Folks wanting a mail ballot, meanwhile, have had the opportunity to request a paper ballot since last Wednesday. You can download the application by going to the Lyon County Election Office website, www.lyoncounty.org, and finding “Election Office” under the Government tab. You can also stop by the Election Office or mail the office at 430 Commercial, ZIP 66801. Completed applications must be received by 5 pm July 31.
Federal Service voters — including military personnel and dependents or civilians and dependents living abroad — should be reaching out to the County Clerk’s Office now by calling 341-3245 or emailing lyclerk@lyoncounty.org if they have not received yet their ballot.
The advance vote process ends at noon Aug. 6. Polls across Lyon County will be open from 7 am to 7 pm Aug. 7. KVOE News will have complete election coverage that night, including vote tallies and reactions. The official vote canvass will be 9 am Aug. 13.
