The Kansas City Royals held on for a 5-4 win over Detroit Tuesday night.
The Royals built a 5-0 lead on a 2 run home run by Mike Moustakas in the 1st inning. Salvador Perez drove in a run with a single in the 3rd and hit a solo home run in the 5th. And Jorge Bonifacio scored on an error in the 6th. Burch Smith shutout the Tigers on 1 hit thru 6 innings.
Detroit scored 3 runs in the 7th and a run in the 9th. The Royals and Tigers wrap up their 3 game series Wednesday afternoon, Danny Duffy will be on the mound for the Royals with first pitch at 1:15.
