One person was transported Saturday evening following a crash south of Emporia.
According to Lyon County Deputy Zach Shafer, shortly before 7 p.m., a 17-year-old male driver was southbound in the 1400 block of Road J when he swerved to miss an animal. The vehicle sideswiped a power pole and hit a road sign before coming to rest in the west ditch.
The driver, identified as Carlos Galindo of Emporia was treated on scene and refused transport by Lyon County Ambulance, but was taken by personal vehicle to Newman Regional Health with non-life threatening injuries.
