Sloppy joes were served up in Americus Saturday evening for a good cause.
The Masonic Lodge in Americus provided the backdrop for a sloppy joe fundraiser dinner and raffle to help support the North Lyon County Veterans Memorial. Project spokesperson Diane Bedner-Smith thanked all who came out and supported them, noting they are working hard to fund the next aspect of the project.
Sloppy joes, beans and homemade ice cream and cookies were served. Bedner-Smith thanked the Masons for their help.
The memorial is located in Bushong’s park and already is partially finished. Fundraising is ongoing for the project. Bedner-Smith says after Saturday’s event, focus shifts to the Sept. 29 fundraiser in the Bushong park which includes live music and a car show.
