Chances for rainfall may be coming to an end early this week after several rain chances over the last few days.
So far, early Sunday was clearly our best time for rainfall areawide. Here at the KVOE studios, we received an inch of rainfall during strong thunderstorm activity before sunrise. Other totals from early Sunday:
*East Emporia: 0.90 inches
*West Emporia: 1.1 inches
*Allen: 0.70 inches
*Bushong: 1 inch
*Lake Kahola: 0.70 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 1.1 inches
Isolated areas, including Camp Alexander and the area near John Redmond Reservoir, had additional rainfall as strong storms developed briefly Saturday afternoon. Cumulative totals are pending.
Once we get past a moderate to slight chance of rain through Monday night, the rest of the work week looks to be dry with temperatures in the low 90s. We’ll keep you updated on KVOE and KVOE.com.
