The Kansas City Chiefs get another day off at training camp Friday.
After day 8 on Thursday Head Coach Andy Reid was pleased with the way the team competed.
One of the questions Coach Reid gets after each practice is about the progress being made by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Coach Reid says right now he want Mahomes to test the offense.
The Chiefs play their first preseason game next Thursday against the Houston Texans.
The NFL preseason began Thursday night with the Hall of Fame Game with the Baltimore Ravens edging the Chicago Bears 17-16.
8 new members will be added to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday. They include contributor Bobby Beathard, who started his career as a scout with the Kansas City Chiefs, linebacker Robert Brazile, safety Brian Dawkins, guard Jerry Kramer, linebacker Ray Lewis, wide receiver Randy Moss, wide receiver Terrell Owens, and linebacker Brian Urlacher.
