Community support for the Emporia Police Department was evident Sunday as officers organized a community video shoot as part of the nationwide lip sync challenge.
With Gary Clark, Jr’s rendition of “Come Together” filling the 800 block of Commercial, about 200 residents joined officers in a roughly 30-minute demonstration of togetherness as the video was shot.
It was a time not lost on Officer Ken Rodriguez, the videographer for the package.
For longtime Patriot Guard Riders organizer Deb Fuller, being involved highlighted a big difference in law enforcement between 50 years ago — when her dad was an officer — and now.
Fred Masters, one of the participants, says law enforcement needs community support.
The final video should be ready by Tuesday and will contain the community video shot Sunday as well as other videos from Emporia Police officers taken the last couple weeks.
