The St. Louis Cardinals out scored the Kansas City Royals 8-2 Sunday to complete a 3 game sweep.
Alex Gordon and Lucas Duda each drove in a run to give the Royals a 2-1 lead after 3 innings. Jakob Junis held the Cardinals in check for 6 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 8 strikeouts. Manager Ned Yost called it a good outing.
The Cardinals scored 3 runs off of Jason Hammel in the 7th, a run in the 8th and 3 more runs in the 9th.
