Add local businesses to the entities subject to having their names used in financial scams.
Floyd’s Auto is reporting that one woman received an automated call from the number 620-342-7718, which came up as “Floyd’s, Inc.,” on the caller ID — even though the business number is 342-7713. The subsequent message said the woman owed money to the repair company.
The company says Floyd’s does not send out automated messages. If you receive such a call, especially one saying you owe money, contact local law enforcement. If you have already received such a call and given out personal information, contact your credit card company as well.
