It was worth the wait for the Kansas City Royals Thursday night. They waited out a 2 hour 14 minute rain delay and out scored the Toronto Blue Jays 6-2.
Lucas Duda hit a solo home run to tie the game in the 2nd inning. The Royals scored 3 runs in the 4th inning to take the lead for good. Jorge Bonifacio tripled in a run and scored on a Ryan O’Hearn single. O’Hearn scored on a Hunter Dozier double.
Rosell Herrera doubled in a run in the 5th. He was 3 for 4 at the plate.
Whit Merrifield drove in a run with a single in the 6th inning.
The Royals are in Chicago Friday night to begin a 3 game series with the White Sox. Jakob Junis will be on the mound for the Royals with first pitch at 7:10p.
