Relay for Life of the Flint Hills is encouraging you to donate nonperishable food Saturday.
Spokesperson Cherie Crisp says it’s Relay’s way of giving back to the community. Collections will be at Walmart through 4 pm, and Crisp had some suggestions for food donations during a recent KVOE Newsmaker segment.
Proceeds are split between Corky’s Cupboard at Emporia State University and the Salvation Army food pantry. Canned food donations are also used as weights for luminaries for the annual Relay for Life, which is Sept. 8 from 11 am-11 pm at the Bowyer Community Building.
